In a chaotic and stressful world, we need art more than ever. True craftmaking requires practice and patience, and attending Kim’s workshops will undoubtedly allow you a resource to embark on your own creative path. Women creating art together is an ancient practice of daily life that has been lost in our modern world. Gathering to learn craft together goes beyond the scope of creating art, but also connects us with time spent in laughter and bonds us in a shared experience. We share secrets and ideas, and our struggles with the project become catalysts to our personal development.
Whether through beading or dyeing cloths, we are faced with a technical challenge in how to put our vision into a tangible thing. Sometimes it doesn’t work out the way we thought, but it usually transforms into something unexpected and even more delightful.
Practicing art gives us therapy and social connection. When creating together we are given the opportunity to work in communion and fail without fear. Kim’s workshops are a safe place to explore these dynamics within oneself and come out with a beautiful piece of your very own.
Kim is available to conduct workshops in the Virgin Islands as well as internationally. In these workshops she willingly shares insight into her unique creative processes and techniques, teaching participants ‘The Art of Shibori’ or “The Fine Craft of Beading”, as examples, and encouraging individual creativity.
Workshops are regularly scheduled throughout the year, or can be tailored to meet your individual or group needs.

“I’ve attended two of Kim’s shibori workshops, held at a gorgeous villa on St. John. Each one has been an exciting chance to create, to remind myself of my talents and how much I have to learn. The elegance of the setting and decor of our workshops is always considered and brings inspiration, along with the catering of a delicious meal and fruity bubbly drinks.” – Celeste M.
“Kim is a detailed teacher, and has a wealth of information to share especially terms of paying attention to detail. She guides her students through the process of creating and bringing their vision to life. I’m thankful to always be a student and recommend any class she teaches, from tie dye to beading. It will be useful and rewarding in more ways than one.” – Zarah R.
